Science was brought alive for 90 pupils from South East Wales schools at a Hands on Science event this month at the University of Glamorgan. The event ‘Science at Work 2010’, gave Year 10 and 12 pupils an insight into the world of Chemistry and science.
Pupils were able to discover the career opportunities and degree options available to them in Chemistry from Dr Wynne Evans, Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Glamorgan. Computer Forensic student Jamie Gumery was on hand to talk to the pupils about his subject area.
An interactive science show was delivered by Helen Lloyd from Science Made Simple at Cardiff University, looking at medical engineering, ‘Engineering for Life - From Cradle to Grave’.
Pupils from Treorchy Comprehensive School, Bishop Hedley High School and Blaengwawr Comprehensive School attended the event.
