A Sciencetriffic Day out for all the family!Hands on Science spent Saturday 31st March at Scientriffic Family Fun Day at NEWI in Wrexham. Ray Newberry a lecturer in Food Science from UWIC, Cardiff, presented a hands on workshop about the science of chocolate. Lots of families came along to learn about the origins of chocolate, the process it goes through to get to the factories and the process it goes though to reach the shops. The pictures show visitors gettng to grips with tempering the chocolate (changing it's temperature to make the fat crystals cool and align in the same way) as well as putting the tempered chocolates into moulds ready to set in the fridge.
